Every year there are more and more commercially available products that make pharmacy compounding less common. However sometimes a prescriber will want a combination of products that are not available together, or a patient may have specific requirements including dye-free, preservative-free, alcohol-free, etc. When this is the case, a pharmacist may compound a special product to meet these needs. At Hastings Pharmacy you have a couple options. First, we frequently make simple compounded topical and oral products that can be made in the store the same day. Secondly, for more complicated or specialized products we have access to a qualified compounding pharmacy that can have the product delivered directly to you or to our store for pickup.
